Two new pigments from Penicillium islandicum are the partly hydrogenated catenarin derivatives 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,2,3,5,8-tetrahydroxy-6-methylanthraquinone and 1,2-dihydro-2,4,5,8-tetrahydroxy-7-methylanthraquinone.
