Sulphonohydrazides and related compounds. Part IX. The ultraviolet spectra of some related aromatic sulphonamides, sulphonohydrazides, acetone sulphonohydrazones, and sulphonyl azides

Abstract

To examine the effect of the sulphonyl side-chain on the aromatic nucleus, the absorption spectra of some available sulphonohydrazides and related compounds were studied. The spectral changes were correlated with substituent effects and the withdrawing power of the sulphonyl side-chain was determined.
