Nitroxide radicals. Part III. The formation of mononitroxides from binitrones
Abstract
Several binitrones give e.s.r. spectra in solution owing to the formation of mononitroxides by hydrogen abstraction, most probably from the solvent. E.s.r. measurements on porphyrindine in a liquid-crystal solvent indicate that it is a diamagnetic compound containing a monoradical impurity.
