The hydrolysis of some norbornyl sulphites and related compounds
Abstract
The hydrolysis of cholesteryl methyl, menthyl methyl, dibornyl, and endo- and exo-2-dinorbornyl sulphites are catalysed by mineral acids. The kinetic form of the hydrolyses, and the values of the Arrhenius parameters, suggest that in all these esters hydrolysis proceeds by the A-2 mechanism.
