Co-ordination compounds of indium. Part VIII. Studies of indium(III) cyanate systems

Abstract

Attempted preparations of indium(III) cyanate were unsuccessful, and probable reasons for this are discussed. Addition compounds of the type In(NCO)3L3(L = unidenate ligand) and In(NCO)3LII1·5(LII= 2,2′-bipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline) were obtained from the corresponding indium(III) halide complexes. The properties of these adducts are compared with those of the analogous halide and pseudohalide compounds.
