The synthesis and some properties of methoxydimethylsilane

Abstract

Methoxydimethylsilane and methoxytrimethylsilane have been prepared in almost quantitative yields by the interaction of methanol with bisdimethylsilyl sulphide and bistrimethylsilyl sulphide. Some physical properties of the new compound methoxydimethylsilane are reported. Nuclear magnetic resonance and hydrogen-bonding data are discussed for a series of siloxane and methoxysilane derivatives.
