Automated procedure for the simultaneous determination of phosphorus and nitrogen in plant tissue

Abstract

An automated technique for determining phosphorus in plant tissue in an aliquot of the acid-digested sample issuing from the AutoAnalyzer Kjeldahl Analyzer digestor unit, by an adaptation of the molybdovanado-phosphoric yellow-colour procedure, is described. Optimum reaction conditions have been established, and results indicate that the phosphorus determination can be made within the limits of accuracy normally acceptable for similar determinations.
