Polymerization of methyl methacrylate by anions. Part 1.—Kinetic studies in toluene + tetrahydrofuran solution with sodium as Gegen-ion

Abstract

Kinetic and conductance measurements show that free ions are not involved in the polymerization at low tetrahydrofuran concentration. The Arrhenius parameters suggest that two forms of the propagation species are present, most probably solvent separated ion pairs and a more closely associated form.
