Cyto-active amino-acids and peptides. Part XII. Derivatives of serine and tyrosine and related hydroxy compounds
Abstract
The synthesis of O-[NN-di(2-chloropropyl)carbamoyl]-DL-serine, -D-serine, -L-serine and -L-tyrosine is described. In addition O-[NN-di(2-chloropropyl)carbamoyl] derivatives of glycollic acid, phenol, p-cresol, o-and p-nitrophenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol, salicylic acid, and methyl salicylate have been prepared.
On standing, O-[NN-di(2-chloropropyl)carbamoyl]-DL-serine is slowly converted into 3-(2-chloropropyl)-5-methyloxazolidone.
The activity of these compounds against the Walker 256 tumour in rats is reported.
