1,3,5-Triazines. Part VII. The ultraviolet, infrared, and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of some chloro-1,3,5-triazine derivatives

Abstract

The structures of the arylamino- and p-dialkylaminophenyl-dichloro-1,3,5-triazine derivatives described previously2 are discussed in the light of their physical properties. The ultraviolet and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of compounds of the latter class lead us to propose the triazinyl residue as a substitutent group with a potentially variable electron-withdrawing power.
