Tervalent phosphorus–nitrogen chemistry. Part IV. Di(alkylamino)phenylphosphines

Abstract

The preparation and properties of diethyl, di-n-propyl-, di-isopropyl-, and di-t-butylaminophenylphosphines and of certain of the methyl and ethyl iodide adducts and the oxides, sulphides, and selenides are described. Diethyl and di-isopropylaminophenylphosphines have been shown to rearrange to the corresponding N-alkyldialkylaminophosphazenes, polycyclo(phenylphosphine), and alkylamines. The infrared and n.m.r. spectra of some of the compounds are reported.
