Organometallic intermediates. Part II. The preparation and structure of some diphenylcyclopropenone complexes

Abstract

A series of complexes of diphenylcyclopropenone with zinc(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), ruthenium(II), rhodium(III), palladium(II), and platinum-(IV) and -(II) have been prepared. The structures of these complexes have been elucidated by spectroscopic and magnetic measurements, and the position of diphenylcyclopropenone in the spectrochemical series determined. In all cases co-ordination occurs through the carbonyl oxygen.
