Infrared and Raman spectra of some complexes between thiourea and tellurium(II)

Abstract

The infrared and Raman spectra of crystalline samples of the complexes of formula [Te(tu)4]Cl2, Te(tu)2Cl2, and Te(tu)2Br2(tu = thiourea) are reported and assigned to fundamental modes of vibration. It appears that the Te–S bond is relatively weak and thus the Te–S stretching vibrations are of low frequency.
