The infrared and Raman spectra of tetraethyl diphosphine disulphide in relation to the molecular structure
Abstract
The infrared and Raman spectra of crystalline tetraethyl diphosphine disulphide confirm earlier X-ray work in showing that the molecule has the trans configuration, with a centre of symmetry in the molecular skeleton. The infrared spectra of the liquid and of dilute solutions are similar to that of the solid; there is thus no evidence of any major structural change in the condensed phase.
