Hydrogen bonding in some adducts of oxygen bases with acids. Part III. Dielectric studies

Abstract

Dielectric titrations were performed to establish the composition of complexes formed between bases with X–O groups (X = N, S, or P) and some carboxylic acids, and phenols. In all cases the stoichiometric ratio 1 : 1 was found. The dipole moments of the adducts were estimated and the Δµ values, i.e., the increase of the dipole moment due to hydrogen bonding was deduced for various mutual orientations of the interacting components.
