Some novel eliminations of neutral fragments from ions in mass spectrometry. Part III. Fragmentation of the 1,3-diphenylpropene ion-radical

Abstract

The loss of methyl, ethyl, and vinyl radicals from the 1,3-diphenylpropene ion-radical in the mass spectrometer has been studied by means of 2H- and 13C-labelling and appearance-potential measurements. Mechanisms have been suggested for these unusual eliminations.
