Naturally occurring quinones. Part VIII. Solorinic acid and norsolorinic acid
Abstract
Reinvestigation of solorinic acid has confirmed the structure 2-n-hexanoyl-1,3,8-trihydroxy-6-methoxy-anthra-quinone, put forward by Koller and Russ, which has been established by synthesis. The lichen Solorina crocea also contains norsolorinic acid, 2-n-hexanoyl-1,3,6,8-tetrahydroxyanthraquinone.
