Alkaloids from Croton species. Part IV. The isolation and structure of a new proaporphine derivative from Croton linearis Jacq.
Abstract
A new proaporphine is isolated from Croton linearis Jacq. as its OO-diacetate, which can be converted into D-(+)-NO-dimethyldeoxyhexahydrocrotonosine methiodide by standard procedures involving hydrogenolysis. Spectroscopic and other studies show the new compound to be the 8,9- or 11,12-dihydro-derivative of the dienol derived from “isocrotonosine”.
