West African timbers. Part XIII. Extracts from the heartwood of Amphimas pterocarpoides and Pterocarpus erinaceous
Abstract
Heartwood timbers of Amphimas pterocarpoides and Pterocarpus erinaceous, family Leguminosae, were extracted with light petroleum and methanol, respectively, yielding the known isoflavones, afromosin and pseudobaptigenin, respectively. The spectral properties of these compounds, and some derivatives, are reported.
