Constant ionic media; activity coefficients for hydrogen chloride in aqueous sodium perchlorate

Abstract

Precise measurements have been made of the change with concentration of the mean ionic activity coefficient of dilute hydrochloric acid in concentrated sodium perchlorate solution, a fashionable “constant” ionic medium. The change is not negligible, but can be predicted from data for single electrolytes.
