Revealing the optimal pre-lithiation threshold of a LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode for stable anode-free lithium metal batteries
Abstract
Electrochemical pre-lithiation of NCM811 for anode-free batteries reveals a critical trade-off. While supplying lithium, excessive pre-lithiation causes structural degradation. Li1.5(NCM) is identified as the optimal threshold that delivers the best balance, enabling improved stability in AFLMBs with the highest capacity retention.
