Evaluation of net reaction heat in photochemical processes excluding heat input from irradiation

Abstract

We have established a procedure for evaluating net reaction heat generated by photochemical processes. As a representative example, photochemical Wohl–Ziegler bromination was selected. Its reaction heat was measured independently of heat input from irradiation using an EasyMax system. Such precise evaluation can facilitate safe and efficient scale-up of photochemical reactions.
