Abstract

The carbido complex [Rh2(μ-C)Cl2(μ-dppm)2] reacts with triphenyl cyclopropenium hexafluorophosphate to afford the exo-metallated metallacyclopentadiene salt [Rh2(μ-C4Ph3)Cl2(μ-dppm)2]PF6 via formal insertion of a metal–carbon multiple bond into the cyclopropenium ring.
