Interfacial electronic tuning of Pt–Co3O4 enables highly efficient electrocatalytic hydrogenation of phenol
Abstract
A Pt–Co3O4 electrocatalyst, optimized through metal–support interactions, efficiently catalyzes the transformation of phenol to ketone–alcohol (KA) oil, achieving a 71.4% faradaic efficiency, 93.2% product yield, and 40 hours of stability. In situ Raman spectroscopic analysis confirms that the promoted adsorption and activation of the aromatic ring over Pt–Co3O4 is responsible for the superior ECH activities.
