Hydrogen bonds in complexes of noble gases with H(CHB11F11) carborane acid – DFT calculations

Abstract

Noble gases, when they interact with H(CHB11F11) carborane acid, which has been classified in several studies as the strongest acid, lose part of their electron charge and thus act as Lewis bases in the complexes formed. These complexes are linked by interactions that possess numerous characteristics of a hydrogen bond.
