Visible light-induced ipso-chalcogenation of aryl/alkenyl boronic acids assisted by a chalcogen-radical transfer (ChRT) strategy
Abstract
We report a transition-metal-free, visible light-induced method for the ipso-chalcogenation of aryl/alkenyl boronic acids. Our approach enables functionalization of a variety of electronically diverse aromatic boronic acids under mild conditions using a cost-effective source of photons, eventually giving rise to a wide range of unsymmetrical sulfides, selenides and tellurides.
