Soft chiral-bridged binuclear Pt(ii) complexes with cyclometalated N-heterocyclic carbene ligands for multicolor circularly polarized luminescence
Abstract
Half-lantern binuclear Pt(II) complexes with cyclometalated N-heterocyclic carbene ligands deliver red to green circularly polarized luminescence (FWHM: 50–61 nm). The presence of soft chiral-bridged ligands leads to efficient chiral self-sorting of metal-induced planar chirality (ee > 99%) and strong phosphorescence (with a quantum yield, lifetime, and an asymmetry factor of up to 71.4%, 1.78 µs, and 2.33 × 10−3, respectively).
