Visible-light-mediated propargylation of phenols/thiophenols via organic photocatalysis

Abstract

Herein, we report a visible-light-driven, organic photocatalyzed dehydrogenative alkynylation of anisoles and thioanisoles via a single-electron transfer (SET) pathway. The method features a broad substrate scope (up to 51 examples) and gram-scale scalability and operates via a non-radical chain mechanism, which has been unambiguously confirmed by mechanistic investigations.
