Ionic polymer with cooperative CO2 adsorption and catalytic sites for efficient CO2 cycloaddition

Abstract

A series of bifunctional ionic polymers were prepared, integrating spatially proximal CO2 adsorption sites (protonic ionic moieties) and catalytic sites (Br) thereby enabling simultaneous CO2 enrichment and activation. This structural synergy endows the materials with outstanding catalytic activity for the cycloaddition of CO2 with diverse epoxides under mild, solvent-free, and co-catalyst-free conditions.
