Photochemical chloro-sulfoximidation of bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane with sulfonimidoyl chlorides

Abstract

Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) and sulfoximines are versatile bioisosteres in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. However, direct synthetic methods for accessing disubstituted BCP sulfoximines remain limited. Herein, we report a general platform that addresses this challenge by enabling sulfonimidoyl chlorides to participate in photochemical coupling reactions with BCP, thereby providing efficient access to sulfoximine–BCP chloro hybrid bioisosteres.
