Tandem dye sensitized photoelectrochemical cells mimicking photosynthesis for efficient H2O2 production without bias
Abstract
A tandem dye sensitized photoelectrochemical cell mimicking natural photosynthesis is developed for solar driven H2O2 synthesis. The system couples a Ru/TiO2 photoanode for water oxidation with a PSI like a molecular photocathode for O2 to H2O2 reduction. Operating without external bias, it achieves 95% faradaic efficiency for H2O2 production from H2O and O2.
