Stability and degradation mechanisms of silver–nickel nanoparticle catalysts for electrochemical CO2 reduction
Abstract
The Ni incorporation in the Ag–Ni alloy catalyst increases the density of active sites and promotes electron transfer between the active sites and reaction intermediates. A comparative investigation of the degradation mechanisms of pure Ag and Ag–Ni catalysts demonstrates that Ni incorporation suppresses surface reconstruction of the NPs, thereby enhancing the catalytic stability.
