Reactions of phosphazines with primary and secondary boranes: adducts, rings and reduction

Abstract

Reactions of (R3PN)2 with electrophilic boranes proceed via B–N adducts, while additional borane affords BN2 salts, whereas reactions with more electron rich boranes, Cy2BH or 9-BBN, prompt phosphazine reduction, giving phosphine and boryl-hydrazines.
