Copper-catalyzed spirocyclization–oxytrifluoromethylation of alkynyl-bicyclo[1.1.0]butanes for spirobutyl quinolone synthesis

Abstract

A Cu-catalyzed radical-initiated spirocyclization-oxytrifluoromethylation gave spirobutyl quinolones under mild conditions with high atom economy. The products showed versatile late-stage reactivity; one acted as a dual optical sensor for Cr6+ and Ba2+, highlighting practical utility.
