Strong interfacial electronic coupling activates NiFeOOH for alkaline seawater oxidation

Abstract

Ga-engineered Ni2P/Fe2P nanosheets undergo operando reconstruction into a NiFeOOH–GaOx active phase, where Ga p-Ni/Fe d hybridization enhances interfacial electronic coupling and charge redistribution, enabling efficient alkaline seawater OER and durable AEM seawater electrolysis.
