Heterometallic molecular Ni–salen catalysts for efficient electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction
Abstract
We report salen-based heterometallic Ni complexes for the electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Complex 4 manifested 50 mA cm−2 at 350 mV overpotential following the lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM). Additionally, it showed excellent stability for 24 hours for the OER. Electrochemical analysis revealed the creation of a 4/Ni(O)OH heterointerface, which acts as an active catalyst for the OER.
