Dinitroaromatic hydrogenation over a Pt@Beta zeolite catalyst with ammonia borane

Abstract

This work demonstrates an efficient synthesis strategy for encapsulating highly dispersed platinum species within a Beta zeolite framework (Pt@β-Air). In the hydrogenation of 2,4-dinitrotoluene, the catalyst featuring a synergistic interaction between Pt single atoms and nanoclusters achieved a 2,4-diaminotoluene selectivity of 99%, significantly outperforming catalysts containing only Pt clusters (49%) or nanoparticles (0%).
