Iridium-catalyzed P(iii)-directed ortho-C–H silylation of arylphosphines with hydrosilanes

Abstract

An iridium-catalyzed, P(III)-directed modular ortho-C–H silylation of commercial monophosphine ligands with readily available trialkylsilanes of varying steric and electronic properties was achieved. This ligand-free strategy exhibits mild conditions, broad substrate scope and excellent regioselectivity. The resulting silylated ligands demonstrate superior efficacy in asymmetric catalysis.
