Abstract

Expression of concern for ‘Substrate induced differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells on hydrogels with modified surface chemistry and controlled modulus’ by Mathieu Lanniel et al., Soft Matter, 2011, 7, 6501–6514, https://doi.org/10.1039/C1SM05167A.

Soft Matter is publishing this expression of concern in order to alert our readers to overlapping images within this paper and supplementary information file. There are overlaps within Fig. 2A, Fig. 8C and S7, and Fig. S4 and S5. The authors understand this to result from incorrect selection of representative replicate images. Due to the time elapsed, the authors are not able to provide the raw data files but believe that these do not affect the conclusions.

An independent expert has agreed that these duplicate images do not affect the conclusions.
