The skin, an important protective organ of the human body, can develop wounds due to trauma and diseases. If not treated promptly, these wounds can lead to serious health problems. Skin dressings are crucial for promoting wound healing. At present, among all kinds of skin wound dressings, hydrogel has the advantages of biocompatibility, easy replacement, avoiding secondary skin trauma. At the same time, Curcumin (CUR) has the advantages of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial; The advantages of CUR-loaded hydrogel can keep the wound moist, prolong the drug release time, reduce infection, promote tissue regeneration, and accelerate wound healing. Therefore, researchers are working on CUR-loading hydrogel for wound treatment. This review summarizes the application of different types of hydrogel and CUR hydrogels in the treatment of various skin wounds, and focuses on the therapeutic effect of CUR hydrogel on diabetic wounds, in order to provide important information for the development of CUR hydrogel dressings.
