Abstract

Correction for ‘Hystereses in flow-induced compression of a poroelastic hydrogel’ by Zelai Xu et al., Soft Matter, 2024, 20, 6940–6951.

The authors regret that there was an error in the sentence in lines 47–48 in the left column on page 6947 of the original article. The text originally read, “For example, Hewitt et al.19 had pore radius image file: d4sm90201g-t1.tif and gel thickness image file: d4sm90201g-t2.tif, and thus η = 2700. Lutz et al.23 had image file: d4sm90201g-t3.tif, image file: d4sm90201g-t4.tif and η = 14[thin space (1/6-em)]400.”

This sentence should read, “For example, Hewitt et al.19 had pore radius image file: d4sm90201g-t5.tif and gel thickness image file: d4sm90201g-t6.tif, and thus η = 1350. Lutz et al.23 had image file: d4sm90201g-t7.tif, image file: d4sm90201g-t8.tif and η = 7200.”

The two η values are each reduced by half. This does not affect the conclusion, as we only needed to show that “Both η values are much higher than those tested here in our study”, which remains true.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
