Retraction of ‘Upconversion fluorescence-based PDT nanocomposites with self-oxygenation for malignant tumor therapy’ by Yingling Xie et al., Inorg. Chem. Front., 2023, 10, 93–107, https://doi.org/10.1039/D2QI02217F.
Following a post-publication review, the authors identified duplications in Fig. 5, specifically concerning the MCF-7 (B) ‘Only laser’ and ‘Ce6’ images; MCF-7 (C) ‘UCNPs-Ce6@Silane’ and ‘UCNPs-Ce6@Silane@Mn’ images; the B16 (D) ‘UCNPs-Ce6@Silane’ and ‘UCNPs-Ce6@Silane@Mn’ images; and the B16 (E) ‘Only laser’ and ‘Ce6’ images. The authors proactively contacted the journal to explain that the issue resulted from an unintentional operational error during the figure assembly process. To uphold academic publishing standards, the authors have voluntarily requested retraction.
