Transition-metal-free K2S2O8-promoted oxidative C–C triple bond cleavage and esterification leading to α-ketoesters

Abstract

A sustainable method for converting alkynes into α-ketoesters is reported through K2S2O8-promoted oxidative C–C triple bond cleavage and esterification. This approach avoids transition metal catalysis, photocatalysts, and pure oxygen conditions, making it both efficient and more convenient.
