Silicon(iv) tetraazachlorin – an unusual cycloaddition product from 3,4-diphenyl-1H-pyrrole-2,5-diimine†
Abstract
Template cyclotetramerization of crude 3,4-diphenyl-1H-pyrrole-2,5-diimine with SiCl4 leads to, along with the expected Si(IV) octaphenylporphyrazine, an unusual side-product – a silicon(IV) tetraazachlorin containing a fused pyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazolone moiety.
