Factors underlying sensitivity of aromatic oxalates in peroxyoxalate chemiluminescent reaction in aqueous-organic media

Abstract

Oxalate sensitivity and selectivity to H2O2 are suggested as criteria for choosing the substrates for chemiexcited PDT. An increase in oxalate electronegativity decreases both values. The presence of o-substituent increases efficiency of aromatic oxalate. Oxalate encapsulation in micelles does not change the patterns observed in solution. Biocompatible bis(2-pentyloxycarbonyl-phenyl)oxalate synthesized for the first time is promising oxalate for chemiexcited PDT.
