Topological and superconducting properties of two-dimensional MXC3 [M:X = In:As, Se:As, In:Te and As:Te] by first-principles study

Abstract

Topological superconductivity is a fascinating quantum property in the field of condensed matter physics. The exploration of topological superconductivity in two-dimensional (2D) materials has become one of the current hot topics. Based on first-principles calculations, we predict that 2D MXC3 materials (M:X = In:As, Se:As, In:Te and As:Te) are thermodynamically and dynamically stable. InAsC3, SeAsC3 and InTeC3 possess topologically non-trivial metallic properties. More interestingly, all of these materials are revealed to be phonon-mediated superconductors, with InAsC3 and SeAsC3 exhibiting a higher critical temperature (Tc) of 33.6 and 17 K, respectively. The Tc of InAsC3 and SeAsC3 is higher than those of most structures with both topological and superconductivity properties. The discovery of 2D MXC3 provides a new platform for exploring 2D topological superconductors.
