Organic charge transfer cocrystals for photoluminescence

Abstract

Organic charge-transfer cocrystals have emerged as a prominent research focus in the field of photoluminescence, owing to their unique optical properties and structural tunability, which show significant potential for fine-tuning various photoluminescence properties. In this review, cocrystal growth methods are introduced in detail first, such as solution methods, gas-phase methods, and mechanochemistry methods. Subsequently, basic photoluminescence mechanisms are introduced. Then, strategies for tuning photoluminescence properties with applications are systematically summarized. Finally, we provide an overview of current challenges and potential research directions in this field. This review can accelerate the development of new organic cocrystals in related applications.
