Enhanced second-harmonic generation response in a chiral lead iodide induced by amino acid coordination

Abstract

A chiral organic–inorganic hybrid lead iodide (L-pro)2PbI2 was synthesized using L-proline as a terminal ligand. This material exhibits a strong second-harmonic generation response of 4.0 times that of KH2PO4, which originates from distorted PbI4O2 octahedra.
