From spontaneous ligand evolution to high-throughput water-based synthesis: scalable access to CO2 selective mixed-ligand metal organic frameworks
Abstract
We report the discovery and synthesis of MOXI-214, a manganese-based metal–organic framework (MOF) with high selectivity for CO2 adsorption. Oxalate ligands were generated by in situ ligand evolution from sodium ascorbate and incorporated into the framework under aqueous conditions. High-throughput experimentation enabled scalable production and the discovery of structural isomorphs.
