MFI nanosheets: a rising star in zeolite materials

Abstract

MFI zeolite nanosheets (NSs) not only retain the intrinsic catalytic, adsorption and shape-selective characters of microporous zeolites, but also possess a shortened straight channel length that enhances the access and transport of guest molecules. They have emerged as one of the most promising types of nano-materials due to their desirable performance in catalytic applications and gas separation. This brief perspective focuses on the synthesis, crystallization mechanism, and catalytic application of MFI NSs, with emphasis on the recent achievements in this field. The major advantages, challenges and future application prospects are also covered.
